as seen to and was even cooking the food at one point. He is clearly an asset to your company I think he is called ben. Him and his staff were brilliant

My daughter and I went to PE Freeport for lunch. The service and quality of food met the high standards which we have come to expect from Pizza Express. But the state of the decor ! It was appalling the walls and chair legs in the dining area were in a disgusting condition along with the walls and mirror in the Gents. I know it's a busy place but surely this means that the decor has to be maintained more regularly.

Having been up in Newcastle for well over 2 weeks, I ate in the new restaurant in the Metro Centre. What a superb crew they have there serving on ! All the staff are courteous, happy, friendly & most helpful. The banter between them all is so refreshing & tonights visit made my day ! Abi, who has served us for two visits, is a credit to PizzaExpress - nothing is too much for him & he made us feel special.
Our food was excellent , the best Bosco salad ever, the atmospehre superb, the Peroni ice cold, the Montepullcianno just right......................
And, the loos immaculate. The signs being Angels of the North with a male & female body in the centre ....................... how clever and what a clever touch .

Dined at Pizza Express, Exeter last week and shall not be returning. This was my first experience of the chain and I was shocked at the poor standard of food being served. The starter of garlic bread resembled an old leather shoe, only not as tasty. Perhaps due to the fact that the dough is NOT made fresh but in a factory, frozen and boxed to be stored for God knows how long before being used by the Pizza Express Chefs. (I use the term 'chef' loosely as very little actual cooking appears to take place) My main course arrived after some 50 minutes!!, a spinach and ricotta cannelloni, burnt on top, frozen in the middle!! I was informed this was due to the fact that NONE of the pasta dishes are prepared on site, and are instead bought in frozen only to be heated by the 'chefs'. The days of restaurants passing off prepackaged ready meal rubbish I foolishly believed were long gone, how wrong I was. My partners salad was also hugely disappointing, swamped as it was in a salad creme like dressing. Watching the 'chef' prepare the salad was unbelievable, the salad, yet again came from a packet, the rest of the toppings originating from tins stacked on shelving behind the 'chefs'. Not a single fresh ingredient appeared to be used, indeed, my partners request for extra avacado resulted in lumps of lemony brown sludge!!! The only upside of the whole experience was a wonderful desert of Cheesecake, naturally this was not produced by anyone at Pizza Express but was merely yet another bought in ready made dessert.
Although the waitress was very pleasant, the manager was rude and arrogant, informing me that it was unrealistic to expect 'real food' at a city centre restaurant and that if I wanted fresh food I should eat at home!!
Pizza Express is NOT a restaurant but simply a (not so) fast food outlet. All the food served is prepackaged processed rubbish, indeed the chicken, spicy beef etc is nothing more than reconstituted rubbish which would be difficult to ever honestly describe as 'meat'.
If I had wanted to eat microwave processed ready meals I would have gone to ASDA not a restuarant.
I truly hope you post this review, for it is unfair to hoodwink customers into paying for such rubbish.
